The Dauphin County 911 center began receiving calls of a shooting inside the Walmart located at 6535 Grayson Road in Swatara Township at 5:17 p.m., according to a release by township police.
Officers from multiple townships responded. Upon arrival, Swatara officers located the victim and quickly found that the suspected shooter has fled the scene.
Through an investigation, police determined the suspected shooting was Luis David Jose, 27, of Ivy Lane in Harrisburg City, according to the release.
Swatara police detectives found Jose's car on Rolleston Street in Harrisburg City and worked with Harrisburg City Bureau of police "to locate and apprehend the suspect without incident," police say.
Jose has been charged with the following according to his court docket:
- Felony Aggravated Assault - Attempts to cause Serious Bodily Injury or causes injury with extreme indifference
- Misdemeanor Simple Assault (2 counts)
- Misdemeanor Recklessly Endangering Another Person
- Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting
- Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief - Damage Property
He has been denied bail as a "threat to the Commonwealth" and held in the Dauphin County Prison, as stated in court records.
His preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Michael J. Smith at 11:15 a.m. on August 1, according to his court docket.
